Book-Baptism of my second Monograph
Public baptism of my book «The Internationalisation of Law in Switzerland» at the Cinématte in Bern in April 2026.
Concept
The event was an experiment, since I have not seen anything similar before: The public event featured slam poetry by Mary Long, selected shortfilms about democracy in between sets, and comments based on their own research on three different findings in my book by dear colleagues Prof. Nula Frei, Prof. Benedikt Pirker and Dr. Stefan Schlegel. The idea was to celebrate the book and thank everyone who contributed in one way or another to its quality and conclusion. On the other hand I wanted to offer an opportunity to engage with the book to anyone who is interested in my findings.
Outcome
It was a fantastic night - so many showed up for an evening about legal research, democracy and the role of Switzerland in the world, people were sitting on the floor in the end! The combination of legal research, slam poetry and shortfilms worked out really well – also thanks to the brilliant contributions by my guests. I genuinely hope that others are inspired and organise similar research-based events in the future. I would definitely love to attend.
